Locations
Barnsley Train Station
The scene where the little girls journey sets off will be on the train station platform. for this we will use Barnsley Train Station as it is the local station, making it easier for us to film at. It will also provide us with a good background and shot line up, so that we can take numerous shots from different angles of our protagonist whilst she waits for the train. To be able to do this we will need to ask permission from the train station. This is because there many be problems such as other people on the platform that do not want to be filmed, along with any health and safety hazards that could happen as we are filming near the train tracks.
Hospital Room
For the ending scene, we would preferably like to film in a room that seems a realistic hospital environment. For this we will use Barnsley College's practice hospital room. This means that most of the equipment needed to make the scene look realistic will already be provided, such as the hospital bed. To go with the room, we will have to acquire certain props that will add to the rooms effect and seem believable to the audience. This includes dress robes for the patient (eldest sister) and hospital staff we may include in the scene. Along with hospital equipment like a drip, syringes and bandages.
Chocolate Shop
The chocolate shop will be anther big location in our short film. This is where the little girl will get the chocolates that she set out on her journey for. This is why we want to find a nice, old fashioned chocolate shop to film in. For this we will need to ask the owners permission as we will not only be filming in and around their shop, but we may also acquire use of their till, so that the scene looks believable that the little girl is buying the chocolates.
