In order to present the older sisters cancer, we have to make her look very ill with make-up.

This tutorial suggests that the easiest way to do this is, firstly, by having a white base coat to make them appear pasty and lifeless. This could be done through face paint or very light foundation and powder. I think that using actual make-up rather than face paint will look more realistic and therefore our film more professional.

Another technique this make-up artist uses is to give themselves bags under their eyes. By using dark colours just under their eyes this would make our actress appear tired and unsettled, perhaps due to the stress and treatment that comes with the illness.

In a similar way, the hair of the woman from the tutorial has also been done to help portray herself as ill. This has been done by making the hair look shaggy and undone. Again this would present our character as too tired and ill to care about her appearance.
